Albuquerque

When we visited the Pacific North West the group were very kind in allowing me to stop off at The Goonies House. For this trip I thought I'd try to find something in Albuquerque, a town that growing up I knew from the Spectrum game "Trans Am" and later on in the Prefab Sprout song.

Hard to believe I played this religiously back in the 80s.

This track holds up pretty well!

Anyway I found that Breaking Bad was filmed here and a bit of research of some other websites revealed the location of some of the places used for that show, so it was agreed to squeeze some of these into our morning drive through the town.

The first location was the famous chicken shop Los Pollos Hermanos.

It's actually a burrito place called Twisters.

They have a little nod to the show in the entrance.

Next up was the car wash

How it looks now.

It was convenient to have a BB themed camper outside. I think this was doing a tour of the locations for those who don't wish to drive themselves.

Next up was Walter White's house located in the north of the city. No, we were very wary of not wanting to upset the people who lived there. Soon after our visit to the Goonie House the owners decided they had enough and stopped people coming up for photos. As we pulled up to the house we could see the owners gathering outside so we took a photo from the car and drove off.

We definitely did not wish to be one of these "fans".

The final stop of the locations I'd selected (and there were a lot more) was Saul's office. This looked quite a bit different to the show.

and this is how it looked on the show.

So a nice quick visit around the city which pleased Christof and me (we were the only 2 to have watched the show), so thanks to the others for letting us have our way for the hour.

Whilst driving around here today we were checking the news at home where our country had voted for Brexit. This bummed Tal and I out but provided some humour opportunities from the Germans to keep us amused.
