Taos Pueblo

Our final stop was going to be another UNESCO site Taos Pueblo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities of the United States.
This is how it looks, really impressive. Not so impressive is that this photo is pinched from the internet and not quite what we managed to get.

Unfortunately they had closed an earlier than advertised and we weren't allowed to enter. There were also loads of signs up saying "no photos", which seemed a little odd for a designated "Place of Outstanding Beauty". The chap stopping us from getting in was very polite though.

So to wash the bitter taste out of my mouth we stopped at our favourite supermarket, Walmart. In the UK we have the red, blue and yellow but we didn't have the other two. (We subsequently have received the orange but it's a different flavour). So needless to say I didn't get much sleep that night..

Today we drove through a pretty heavy rainstorm, the first big one of the trip and this also took us away from attempting to stop at another small fair, which we found out only had a go-gator anyway. The chance of us being allowed to ride that would have been slight, even more so if the track was wet.
