Busted

Saying "goodbye" to Joyland we headed south to Seminole for our hotel for the night.

Somewhere along the route we managed to exceed the speed limit by enough to get the attention of the local police force who after a small pursuit promptly pulled us over.

No gun was drawn but there was definitely tension in the air. Fortunately the cop was very cool about it, made us aware of what we'd done, asked to see some documentation (which took a while to get out of the boot) and asked a few questions.

Realising we weren't any trouble, were out of town and had experience of the Autobahn in Germany (he asked us about that when we said 2 of us were from there) he gave us a verbal ticking off, confirmed we'd not picked up any warrants earlier on in the trip, and issued a document saying we'd been pulled over as a souvenir (his words, not ours).

A rather sheepish group of tourists then made their way to the hotel, which was only about 20 minutes away and we did so well within the limit.
