Snowbird

As the crow flies our second Alpine resort, Snowbird, is only 9 miles away but with a large mountain in the way you have to go around it and the drive is more like 60.

Snowbird is one more ski resort with an alpine coaster for the summer. It's noticeably smaller that those we'd been to and doesn't have the same amount of activities, but the scenery is pretty.

On our way to the rides we had to endure a lift with a disabled group, one of which was wearing protective headwear and he was talking at length like he was their tour guide, explaining every detail of the area including the lift interior; tolerable for a little bit.

A single go on the alpine coaster was reasonably priced.

They have a toboggan ride too.

The alpine was ok, but was way too short to be enjoyable. I think it's one of the shortest ones I've ever been on. It's a shame as the scenery here is incredible and a longer run through the trees could have been amazing.

Who would be stupid enough to approach a moose!

and that was Snowbird, a little disappointing but a park that has potential if they had the investment to match. Both of these Alpines were the starters for the day, we knew that the main course, and one of the trip highlights was about to follow.
